THE HISTORY OF CKER
The Channel first started when Paul Communication's cable
started in the late 1990's. The community would bring old VHS tapes to the
cable office and ask them to play it on the "OPEN" channel. Individuals and
organizations would bring videos they made, in-house and pay a fee to play it.
Programs would repeat all day until another show was put on.
This has been the status-quo until September 14, 2010, when CKER-TV first
premiered on Paul Communications Channel 3. The Kahnawà:ke Community Channel,
CKER-TV is Kahnawà:ke's FIRST Community television station.
